Hope & Humanity in the Age of AI

From books to podcasts to panels - a platform that explores the human side of the technology equation

Conviction

AI will be deeply disruptive - and deeply beneficial for humanity.

That is my conviction, my purpose, my message.

As a species, we have evolved through countless eras: from hunter/gatherers to agrarians, industrialists, and now into the digital age. Each transformation has brought progress - but also distance. Despite unprecedented innovation, we have drifted from the very fabric that makes us human: connection to self, to others, to the natural world.

AI arrives as the great disruptor - unsettling old systems and certainties - but also as a potential catalyst for the next era of human flourishing. It can invite us to remember forgotten forms of intelligence beyond cognition: emotional, somatic, ecological, communal. It can return value to what has always mattered most - empathy, creativity, cooperation, care.

Hope as a choice

For every fear we can cite today - there is corresponding hope. A mirror possibility.

“AI will take jobs.”

Or will it free us from drudgery and from a modern definition of “work” that rarely dignifies human potential?

“AI will disrupt industries like education and healthcare.”

Or will it finally renew them: democratizing access, personalizing care, and extending human capability?

“AI is bad for the environment.”

Or can it become the greatest tool for efficiency, coordination, and climate innovation we’ve ever known?

“AI will make us less intelligent.”

Or will it remind us that true intelligence was never only cognitive - but emotional, creative, embodied, and collective?

“AI will exploit our psychology, like social media did.”

Or will it awaken our collective will to design technology more consciously, with ethics and integrity at its core?

“AI will deepen inequality.”

Or can it unlock new paths for inclusion, merit, and bias-free decision-making?

“AI will be used for harm.”

Or can it unite us across borders - our first truly global challenge and opportunity for cooperation?

“AI will overpower humanity.”

Or is this our invitation to establish and then stand behind a shared set of human values and build accordingly?

The truth is: both stories are possible.
Fear of the unknown is a deeply human experience - to step into the shadow of uncertainty. But it is in darkness that new seeds are sown.
Hope, in this context, is not naïveté. It’s a strategy. And it’s a choice about how we direct intelligence - both artificial and human.
Because the technology is here to stay. And what we choose to believe will shape the future we build.

The Case for Hope In the Age of AI

The Case for Hope in the Age of AI is a call to move beyond fear-only narratives about artificial intelligence. In this talk, I explore why early technologies are always messy but evolve, how AI’s disruption can free us from outdated models of work and learning, and why our innate human capacities - creativity, empathy, self-awareness - are not endangered, but ready to flourish again. The risks are real, and lucidity/clarity is important even while many are being actively addressed. AI is here to stay - and where we put our focus will shape the future we build.

Silicon Valley Impact: The Next Era of AI & Business

On this episode of Silicon Valley Impact, Prof. PK Prasanna Kumar and Tallulah Le Merle speak about pioneering AI innovation, empathetic AI, and the strategies shaping the next era of technology and business.

Westbank Financials

In this interview targeted at students, Tallulah speaks with Westbank Financials about the world of artificial intelligence and venture capital investing. Tallulah shares thoughts on where we are headed, what this means for education and for students wanting to understand the technology and their role in an AI-driven future.

Tallulah at work

During COVID-19, Tallulah and her colleagues at Kearney’s London office created a joyful and informative video exploring how the working world is changing. With a hybrid model of remote and in-office work emerging as the future, they shared practical tools, tips, and common pitfalls to avoid as organizations adapt to this new way of working.

Tallulah previously founded ELEVATE, a networking initiative designed for emerging industry leaders, built around a series of innovative and energizing events. Initially hosting 2–3 large gatherings per year in London, ELEVATE eventually expanded to 12 cities across Europe.
